Welcome to the Wrightverse and the Lampverse

My friend Mr Oka  has been inspired by a doses of tea and pocky sticks to produce some illustrations.

I am so flattered that anyone would read my humble books, much less draw a picture of the characters, I would prefer to hear no negative comments about the youthful enthusiasm of the draftsmanship. Beside, my illustrations appearing inside my wife’s UNEXPECTED ENLIGHTENMENT OF RACHEL GRIFFIN are not exactly Rembrandt either (although I like them).

About John C Wright

John C. Wright is a practicing philosopher, a retired attorney, newspaperman, and newspaper editor, and a published author of science fiction. Once a Houyhnhnm, he was expelled from the august ranks of purely rational beings when he fell in love; but retains an honorary title.

  1. Definitely my fave. It’s just so adorable. I keep wanting to hear from Montrose “Grrrr, I’m the judge of ages!” :D

Hey…. you and the lovely Mrs ever thought about doing a big silly crossover for fun?

Someday may I have fans even half as talented as your, sir.

  2. Your wife got to choose which illustrations appeared in her book? It sounds like Dark Quest is unusually considerate of authors’ design preferences compared to most publishers.

And Sir Guy’s portrait is my favorite.

Thanks! He’s sort of a mashup of an old school Warhammer Space Marine and a Zaku mobile suit, with the Lance of Longinus from Evangelion thrown in for good measure. I do think I made his legs a bit stubby though D:

Who on earth would leave negative comments? It’s so kawaii!
