Some Facts about Dems

Now would be as good a time as any to remind any readers who may otherwise be tempted mechanically to recite Democrat talking points about the institutional or endemic racism in America about certain facts in history.

A brief contemplation of these facts will lead one to wonder, if racism is endemic to America, which political party has operated consistently for the last 150 years to oppose, undermine, and overthrow that racism, and which party has done the opposite.

And here is a telling photograph:

Let me forestall anyone tempted to declare that the US Constitution supports slavery because of the 3/5th Compromise. Actually, that Compromise, while it is a compromise, limited the power of the slave states, who otherwise would have received greater voting percentages in the House of Representatives, under the specious argument that the slave population is also represented. How a man can both be property and be in the census to determine voting percentage is a paradox: but Dems have never been sticklers for logic.

Now, at this point, someone is sure to say that after 1960, all of the anti-racist Republicans suddenly fell out of bed one night and the next morning switched party affiliation to become Democrat, and all the Democrats suddenly fell out of bed and became Republican, so that in modern days, the party that is pro-racism is Republican, and the anti-racism party is Democrat.

This is known as the Southern Strategy. Like Leftwing history generally, it is a hoax. The record shows that precisely one politician in this era switched part alignment from Dem to GOP, namely Strom Thurmond.  Gore, Albright, Smith, Byrd, and the rest of the Dems stayed Dem.

What actually happened is that the Democrats, who favor and have always favored large and intrusive government, under the leadership of LBJ, realized that they could garner Black votes by promising welfare to Blacks. Democrats then arranged policies to trap Blacks in failing schools, bad public housing, and to take away the guns of free Black citizens, so that only cops (and criminals) would have guns.

As in the plantation days, Master would feed and house and protect them. LBJ is famously quoted as saying “We will have those N*[racial slur]*s voting for us for a hundred years.”

The Welfare state was sold to the American public the same way Communists try to sell anything: (1) by promising that a good result which the government cannot possibly deliver will spring forth from expanding the power of government to yet another aspect of life; combined with (2) accusing those of exposing the expansion of government power of opposing the good result, or, more to the point, of actively and malignantly seeking whatever evil the daydreamed good result allegedly will ameliorate.

In such a way, opposition to socialism is dismissed as ‘reaction’ or is caused by the greed and wickedness of those who benefit unjustly from the current unjust system.

Likewise, opposition to the welfare state, to food stamps, prenatal infanticide, and victim disarmament is dismissed as racism.

Now, Dems in general are not very bright people, and so they tend to idolize the government of being capable of things no government can do. Certain KKK members, hearing that Barry Goldwater opposed the anti-discrimination clauses of the Civil Rights Act as undue governmental overreach, thought that the act would alleviate rather than increase racial tension, and voted for him.

LBJ was before the days of Saul Alinsky, but after the days of Karl Marx. He was a canny politician, and knew the benefits of luring the Blacks into inferiority once the Dem ability to bludgeon the Blacks into inferiority had been taken from Dem hands. He knew the benefits of accusing your opponents of your own flaws.

Again, surely the news that Dems are racist comes as a shock to anyone who educated in government run public schools. First, you have never heard the facts listed above. Second, you have been told that there is no reason to support equality, liberty, limited government and rule of law aside from a sinister desire to maintain an unjust and racist system of exploitation. All those who believe in federalism (or so you have been taught) are racists, and all those who seek to impose totalitarianism, thought police, and a police state are motivated by benevolence, love of all mankind, and altruism.

But listen to any Dem talk for any length of time. Does he praise and pet Black accomplishment in condescending tones as one would speak of a child? Does he think the Black is incapable of feeding himself, fending for himself, protecting himself with a firearm? Does he think the Black must have characters in movies and stories race-swapped into Blacks in order to encourage the helpless boob, who otherwise will be crushed with depression without such cheer-leading, or provoked to riotous anger?

Does any of that sound like someone who thinks another man is as mature, self-reliant, free and equal as is he? Or does it sound like a condescending snob, guilt-ridden over his ancestor’s legacy of slavery, and secretly terrified that the lesser races are apelike beings prone to violence?

Not that there have not been changes in the Dems:

1930: Progressive Era, welfare expansion, high taxes, high regulation, feminism, eugenics, alcohol prohibition, rule of experts, Unions, Rich Philanthropy etc.

1960: Welfare, feminism, high taxes, high regulation, anti establishment, civil rights, Unions

2010: Welfare, feminism, high taxes, high regulation, anti nativists, rule of experts, critical theory advocates, intersectionalism, Silicon Valley Philanthropy, etc.

But notice what stays the same: a government large enough to free you is large enough to enslave you. A government intrusive enough to make you rich is intrusive enough to bankrupt you.

Now, to be honest, if the GOP were racist, and benefited from an unjust social system which we wished to propagate, how in the world would arming the citizens, encouraging independence, and shrinking government help us, or anyone, to maintain an unjust social system?

How does leaving them alone to run their own lives oppress them?
