Islam is Not a Religion

Rarely have I heard so much insight so curtly put in words so few and so clear. This basically sums up everything I think about the current geopolitical situation.

The theory that the Left is diabolic explains much.

It explains oddities like our friendly neighborhood Gnostic, who, upon being told that heretics and orthodox Christians, being both monotheists with a spiritual worldview, have a commonality of interests against secular materialist socialist totalitarian mass murderers, rejected the idea with contempt, glorying instead in the dream that the Church would be destroyed by the seculars, and accepting with a pretense of grim fortitude the prospect of the downfall of the west, and his own.

You see, in a political contest, men of slightly varying goals can put aside their differences temporarily, in order to combine to overcome a faction whose goals vary greatly from both, and whose triumph would harm both.

But in a religious war, which is the only kind of war that is truly absolute, the slight variations are not necessarily smaller than the great variations, odd as that sounds.

The heretic who paints a false picture of Christ, but keeps seven out of ten doctrinal and dogmatic statements intact, and the pagan who knows not Christ, are both against the true Christ and both hate Him and hate His followers. Hence neither heretic nor pagan can tolerate the true Christ any more than a vampire can tolerate the sight of the crucifix.
