Boo-hoo, and let me get out my crying bag, Mr. Edword.

"There are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."

I feel a rant a-coming on.

I am sorry, but as a ex-champion of the Forces of Darkness, I find hearing the orcs in the ranks weeping and moaning to be pathetic. Where is their zeal for the Lidless Eye?

It makes me want to practice my Vulcan Death-Grip on them, because of their emotionalism. They are weak.

Are you an atheist because you want to be loved and smooched and patted on the head, Mr. Edword? Or are you an atheist because you think atheism is TRUE and REASON DEMANDS IT?

If you are not willing to be loyal to the truth, no matter the cost, then do not take up arms for the truth. If you are loyal, why count the cost? You want to be a rebel against the vast Christian majority, and also want the victory to be free, without strain, without bloodshed?

If you can’t stand the heat, get outta the kitchen.

I realize that, now that I am on the opposing side, I have no more right to feel contempt for weakness in the ranks, but, by Jupiter’s holy lightning-flinging scrotum, this kind of whiny talk used to really bug me, and I still suffer flashbacks to my old self. How can you feel lonely during Christs’ Mass when YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN CHRIST??!! The crowd of lemmings is rushing off after the Pied Piper to worship the Unseen Flying Spaghetti Monster, and you are feeling all lonesome because you are not in the crowd? Who wants to be in any crowd when the crowd is mad?

One might as well weep and whine about being left behind when all the neighbors signed up for the Children’s Crusade of 1212.

NOW I AM TYPING IN ALL CAPS TO INDICATE THAT I AM SHOUTING. AND I WILL USE EXCLAMATION POINTS TO MAKE MY POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

end of rant.

As a Xtian, I have to be nice and kind, and invite in to our cheerful feasts and celebrations the poor, the tired, and the unbelieving. All are welcome to partake of the spirit of Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward Man, even if you don’t believe in spirits. A lamp is lifted for you by the open door: within, the feast is spread. Come, and be fed.
