Engineering Infinity
Today I saw the cover art for Mr. Jonathan Strahan’ s latest anthology, ENGINEERING INFINITY (which is available for pre-order on Amazon.com). In addition to Stephen Baxter, Greg Bear, and Charles Stross, yours truly also makes an appearance in these pages. Please be impressed with this handsome cover.
My own yarn is called ‘Judgment Eve’ and it is my retelling of Lord Byron’s HEAVEN AND EARTH which in tern is his retelling of the Deluge of Noah. In this version, the omnipotent and energy-winged alien visitors from heaven want to flood the Earth not merely to rid the world of man’s evil, but to increase the percent of the globe open to the Dolphins, who are (by the law of the star-minds) the legal and rightful owners of Earth, on the dry an unimportent bits of which the humans are merely interlopers & squatters. It is also, as in Byron, something of a love triangle between one of the sons of the saved and one of the daughters of the condemned, and her dark angel who promises to carry her to other worlds.
