The Elf King Requesteth — Fundraising for Service Trip

Hello,
My name is Justinian Oberon Wright, usually called Juss (as in Lord Juss from The Worm Ouroboros) though a few of you may know me as The Elf King (see my middle name).

I am the youngest son of John C. Wright and his “lovely and talented wife”, L. Jagi Lamplighter (Wright). You may remember me from such articles as Frozen’s Fatal Flaw Or The Unplotted Plot Twist. This summer, I have an opportunity to go on the adventure of a lifetime–or at least of my lifetime so far–but, I need your help!

I am a part of an organization called the National Leadership Council, a youth group for Christian teens. The point of NLC is to teach kids, such as myself, the skills needed to succeed. The program has been of great help to me. It has forced me to achieve level organization and stick-to-itiveness that, while not yet all that impressive, I would not otherwise have.

The teens in NLC are divided into various twenty-man classes. Each class is together for four years, meeting up twice a year. Once in the winter, for the graduation of the oldest classes, and once in the summer, for a two week trip. For an example of a trip, last year my class went to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming where we camped and studied science.

For their third year, every class goes on what is known as a “service trip”, in which, the class goes to another country in order to render service unto the community there. This year, for our service trip, my class will be traveling to Costa Rica. While we are there, we shall be helping out at two different locations.

In the first half, we shall head to Sarapiqui (a place in north of the country) to help out with something called the Wood Cutter Project. They are a group for teens much like NLC, but focused on the environmental conservation and providing the teens with a carrier path into the tourism trade. We shall be helping them with trial maintenance and the like.

In the second half, we will move to the cost where we shall help with the restoration of the local sea turtle habitat. We will be cleaning up the beach and working in the turtle nursery in order to provide these fine creatures with a home.

In order to go on this trip, however, I must raise $3000. Unfortunately, I only have about a week left before I run out of time to raise the first $500. I asked my parents for help, but my mother told me that it was only on a good day that she could afford milk. So, I am turning to you!

If you wish to help me, you have two choices. You can donate at our trip campaign website by writing my name in the memo area when you donate. (Note: the goal on the website is not the amount that I personally have to raise, but the amount that we must raise together as a class.)

Or, if you would like to donate later (toward the total for the trip), you can donate via my dad’s Tip Jar, just put “For Juss’s Trip” in the memo.

Thank you very much!
