Not Tired of Winning Yet LXXXIV

Seeing a two and a half year lie fall flaming into the smoking crater of its own well deserved ruination is a delight and a fountain of good cheer for all men of good intentions.

For the record, and, speaking as an attorney, when a man is put on trial, and the jury sees the evidence and hears the testimony, retires, weighs and debates the matter, and renders a verdict, it does not find the accused innocent. It does not exonerate the accused.

The jury finds the guilt to be proved, or else not proved.

No one in the history of the Western World since the Twelfth Century, when the Anglo-American principles of Common Law were first written on vellum or parchment, has a man been found innocent. No one, legally speaking, has ever been exonerated. Your innocence is presumed. It is the accuser who must prove his case.

Nonetheless, in common, every day, imprecise layman’s talk, it is perfectly valid and right to say that once a man has been found by a jury of his peers to be not guilty of a charge, he is exonerated.

The decision of a prosecutor to bring charges or not to bring charges likewise neither proves guilt nor offers exoneration. If there is insufficient evidence to bring charges, the prosecutor may not bring them, lest he be guilty of abuse of process and violating habeus corpus. If there is sufficient, he may.

Hence, logically speaking, a man against whom there is insufficient evidence to bring charges is not “exonerated” by the prosecutor. He is merely not prosecuted.

However, in exactly the same way, if you think you are suffering the symptoms of a morbid disease, but then, upon inspection, you find the symptom was imaginary, logically speaking, you have not been “cured” of the disease.

The doctor did not cure you because you were never sick enough to go to the doctor.

Here, Trump is not and never has been under the shadow of any accusation supported by sufficient credible evidence to bring a case. He has not been “exonerated” by the jury because no jury ever sat to hear his case because there was never a case.

There was an accusation so wild, so absurd, so transparently self serving and flimsy, that only those whose judgment is utterly corrupt, utterly overthrown by partisan bias, or utterly facetious and mono-dimensionally shallow could for a moment deceive themselves into taking the accusation seriously.

After all, Hillary leveled it. Hillary supporters and henchmen and cultists supported and spread it, and abused the intelligence and justice institutions to seek political advantage through libel and perjury.

The real scandal is the grotesque abuse of process involved in launching this investigation, as part of a cover-up of additional crimes of libel, of violations of the the espionage act, of leaking classified information to the press, of mishandling classified material, of perjury, lying under oath to the FISA court, espionage against political opponents, and, most ironically, conspiracy with Russia to interfere with our elections, and obstruction of justice.

The Russia hoax was a fake scandal meant to cover up a real scandal, Deep State Gate. It was an attempt at a coup, and treason against the nation. Hillary, and everyone else involved, must be jailed.
