Subversion
Yuri Bezmenov was the most highly ranked KGB agent ever to defect to the West.
Here is one of his televised lectures, from the year (ironically) 1984:
This came to my attention due to a commercial for the game CALL OF DUTY: COLD WAR. I am astonished that the Powers That Be allowed such a thing to escape their control and slip into the public discourse.
Please note especially the remark at 45.20 when he remarks that the Sleepers, Activists, Social Workers, Liberals, Homosexuals, Professors, and Marxists and Leninists are being eliminated — sometimes physically — in Stage Four of the process, when the new regime these intellectuals, malcontents, and nonconformists helped to usher into power are no longer needed nor wanted. Their use is done.
At the conclusion, he states that the simplest protection to prevent subversion before it begins, is to return to religion.
While 2+2=4 can be proved, no one is willing to die for this truth. Whereas the martyrs in the concentration camps died rather than repudiate that Christ was God. The truth of Christ cannot be cannot be proved, only tested.
Allow me to quote from an article whose author, alas, I cannot find nor credit.
As Bezmenov explains in the interview, there are four steps to transform the thinking and behavior of the population.
1. Demoralization
This is a process which can take about 15-30 years to perform (a generation). During this stage, the moral fiber and integrity of the country is put into question, thereby creating doubt in the minds of the people.
To do so, manipulation of the media and academia is required to influence young people. As the younger generation embraces new values, such as Marxism and Leninism, the older generation slowly loses control simply through attrition. Again, true facts no longer matter during this stage, but rather creating perceptions are of paramount importance.
2. Destabilization
The purpose of this step is to change the status quo, particularly the country’s economy, foreign relations, and defense systems. The intent is to create a massive government permeating society and becoming intrusive in the lives of its citizens. This can take from two to five years to perform, again with the active support of academia pushing youth in this direction.
Here, entitlements and benefits are promised to the populace to encourage their support. Basically, they are bribing the people to accept their programs.
Bezmenov claims after this stage is completed, the naive college professors are no longer needed and since they will undoubtedly protest government policies when they discover the truth, they will be disposed of quickly. He cites examples of this occurring in Nicaragua, Grenada, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
3. Crisis
This is a major step lasting up to six weeks and involves a revolutionary change of power. This is where a cataclysmic event upsets and divides the country thereby creating panic among the citizens.
4. Normalization
The final stage, taking a year or two, is where the populace finally acquiesces and begins to assimilate communism. It is the reverse of Destabilization, where law and order is returned, in order to assure the rule of the new rulers.
My comment:
Bezmenov identifies the six areas of attack against society:
- Religion —Religion is to be replaced by a sex cult, or some other artificial religion, eastern mysticism, etc.
- Education — Education to be subverted from the constructive and pragmatic, such as science and math, to the useless, such as home economics or the history of sexuality.
- Social Life — replace naturally established links between neighbors and social initiative, with bureaucracy,such as a social worker, who draws a paycheck whether problems are solved or not.
- Power Structure — replace elected and appointed leaders with artificial bodies of snobbish and unmotivated mediocrities, such as the media, who were never elected.
- Labor Relations — destroy the traditionally established links of bargaining between employer and employee via labor unions, such that the workers are in a worse position after each strike, and only the trade union leaders benefit.
- Law and Order — Law Enforcement is eroded as criminals are glamorized, and police and the military depicted as babykillers, idiots, and pigs. Moral Relativity involves the slow substitution of basic moral values, so that criminals are seen as victims.
The main point he makes is that the subversion process starts by the act of trying to legislate “equality.” Not legal equality, but equality imposed from above, by fiat: equality of income, of outcomes, of opportunity, of fortune.
Once any discontent is deemed to be due solely to an inequality that must be coerced back into equality by law, that internal logical contradictions of that axioms operates to require ever larger bureaucratic intrusions into the lives of the common man. Liberty is eroded, freedom is equated with inequality, love of liberty therefore becomes love of inequality, that is, class-hatred or race bigotry or somesuch.
The cure creates ever more of the disease it allegedly is attempting to cure, so that the only feasible alternative is to destroy the whole social order and restart from year zero.
