Not Tired of Winning Yet LXXI

Finally!

President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Tuesday directing the federal government to prepare a coordinated response plan in the event of an electromagnetic pulse attack (EMP). The order described the enormous damage such an attack could cause and noted the U.S. government currently lacks a coherent plan of action for responding to one.

Here, at the 71st in the series, I come upon a bit of news which would have made me vote for Trump even if he had accomplished nothing else whatever.

It is that important.

And yet, until now, no one ever even seemed to mention the danger in public.

Were I an enemy of the USA, it would be the very first thing I would do, either as a preliminary to an attack, or as an act of political terror.

From time to time on talk radio, other conservatives (most notably, Frank Gaffney on Secure Freedom Radio) or military men would mention the need for hardening the grid against possible attack. but no mainstream politician, no mainstream media pundit.

But it was weird being so alone in my opinion, when the conclusion seemed so obvious.

Part might be mere age. I was alive during the northeast blackout of 1965, albeit I was too young to remember it. (Electricity supplies were cut off for a day in parts of Ontario in Canada and Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Over 30 million people and 80,000 square miles.) However, I do remember the blackout that struck New York City in 1977, which was the excuse for Dem voters to riot, loot, and commit arson.

Since then, I always thought how easy it would be for a foreign power bent on weakening the United States to strike a blow. Merely ignite a nuke in low orbit, blow out all the power generation stations with the EM pulse, and sit back eating caviar while the Dem voters riot and loot and burn the American cities.

I felt less alone when the James Bond movie GOLDENEYE came out, because the McGuffin for that film was an EM pulse bomb.  And, oddly enough, the opening premise of James Cameron’s DARK ANGEL proposes such a weapon would shut down the electrical grid, and usher in a new dark age.

So, I am glad Trump agrees with me, Frank Gaffney, James Bond, and Max Guevara (X5-452), about the nature of the threat.

The shocking under-reaction from the Fake News should set alarm bells ringing in the minds of the suspicious observer:

The minimal media coverage given to Trump’s order was bizarrely contemptuous, as though he had just issued an order to prepare defenses against flying saucers or flesh-eating zombies. The Washington Post headline was “Trump issued an executive order to prepare for an EMP attack. What is it, and should you worry?”

The Post answered its own question with the subhead, “Nah. But the U.S. should get ready for a very similar threat – from the sun.”

Other publications dismissed the EMP threat as “mythical” or mere science fiction, even though the phenomenon of electromagnetic energy from a nuclear detonation interfering with electronics and power transmission systems is far better established than “climate change,” which many of these same publications vehemently insist is not mythical at all and must be fought immediately at unlimited cost in money and human lives.

I have no comment to make on the wretched condition of our treasonous fake news brainwashing corps, who are the worst. Pravda was loyal to Stalin, and Minitru served Big Brother. Say what you will, they never betrayed those they served. Our press has. What else can be said?

So let me post an utterly gratuitous picture of a pretty girl.
