From the thirteenth chapter of the Apocalypse:
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Usually, one would think of the Image of the Beast as some sort of vast statue brought to life by sly tricks of hidden joints and speaking tubes, or perhaps animated like a golem with some infernal arts of the darker sort.
I am not witty nor wise enough to attempt to interpret these deep riddles, which have baffled men better than I, but I will point out that Communism is a beast that was given a deadly wound when the Berlin Wall fell, and yet it apparently lives again, in the form of cultural Marxism and identity politics, political correctness and “Woke” social justice warfare.
This includes pretenses of opposition to it among the Alt-Right, which in truth is merely one head of a Siamese Twin mugging the other, even though they share a heart.
However you interpret the book of the Apocalypse, it would behoove you to recognize the spirit of Antichrist when you see it: namely, hatred of Christ, hatred of Mary, hatred of Jews. The one nation established expressly in liberty under God to be the place where all denominations can flourish is hated most of all.
