Capitol Punishment The Movie

Posted May 2, 2022 By John C Wright

Spread the word, please.

Told through the eyes of the people who were there on the ground, Capitol Punishment shows the world the true story of January 6, 2021.

Everything that we are being told is a lie and Americans are being persecuted to support that lie.

January 6 was years in the making and the threat to the survival of America as we know it, has never been greater.

Watch the movie here. Costs $9.99

Interview with Tim Powers

Posted March 16, 2022 By John C Wright

A reader with the feminine but Johannine name of Jeanine brings this link to my attention:

An interview with Tim Powers: https://podcasts.apple.com/…

The podcast rejoices in the delightful name “I might believe in fairies” — which, for my money, all fair-minded gentlemen of letters should.

I am an admirer both of the man and his work, and consider him to be a conspirator with me to infiltrate the wilderness of science fiction with some wholesome yet awesome old-school Catholic spirit.

While I have your ear, dear reader, let me recommend both ANUBIS GATES and ON STRANGER TIDES to your reading lists.

Don’t Give Money to People Who Hate You!

Posted April 22, 2020 By John C Wright

A sentiment with which I heartily agree:

Everybody thinks Hollywood is political. Everybody’s wrong.

You know that the big movie studios, comic book companies, and video game publishers push an agenda. What you don’t know is that the corporations in control of your entertainment aren’t grifters or ideologues. They’re evangelists of a fanatical anti-religion.

Movie producers don’t ruin beloved film franchises for profit. Comic book writers don’t warp iconic superheroes into self-parodies to sway voters. They hate their audiences with zealous fervor. They want you demoralized, they want your kids propagandized, and they want you to pay for the privilege.

Nostalgia-fueled habit keeps many of these cultists’ victims coming back for more abuse. But you can escape the cycle. In this book, you’ll see how the corrupt entertainment industry hooks its customers, and you’ll gain the tools to reclaim your dignity from the Pop Cult.

Learn to stop paying people who hate you, take back your life, and have fun while you’re at it! Read on!

The Best St. Tommy Book Yet!

Posted March 31, 2020 By Mrs. Wright

Jagi, here.  I realize I am a bit bias because I am the editor for this series, but I thought this was teh best St. Tommy book yet!

Detective Thomas Nolan has finally returned home. In typical police fashion, he is welcomed home with a murder case and gunfire.

After one arrest goes spectacularly wrong, Tommy is assigned another case and another dead body.

But everything goes wrong from the start of the case. The deceased is a member of a nearby military base, and no one wants to answer his questions. A local bodega gives him mind-splitting headaches. Worst of all, someone is after his children.

To make matters worse — Tommy no longer has his charisms.

Get it today from John’s new publisher, Silver Empire!

Planetary: Luna is live!

Posted January 30, 2020 By John C Wright

Jagi, here. You may have heard that the Planetary anthology series has changed publishers and is now coming out from Tuscany Bay Books (TBB).

Today, TBB launches Planetary: Luna. I am particularly proud of this book because I was the co-editor before it moved to its new home. (I bowed out because I wasn’t needed.) This book includes excellent stories from many great authors. It also includes two works that might be of particular interest to readers here:

“Merry by Gaslight” — a background story of one of the students at Roanoke Academy

“Mask of Dhuran Zur” — one of the first stories John ever finished. I remember being creeped out by it in the 1980s. So nice for it to finally see the light of day, or, at least, the moon.

Jagi, here. Sorry, you guys have been seeing a lot of me recently.

New from Superversive Press,
a new essay collection by our own John C. Wright!

This excellent cover was provided by one of the backers to the Starquest Campaign and is dedicated to him and his wife. The Kindle version is now available. The paper version should be coming soon.

These essays appeared on this blog at some point, but here they are in convenient book form.

Science Fiction Grandmaster John C Wright here presents never before published essays on topics both deep and trivial surrounding the strange and wonderful worlds of science fiction and fantasy. Thoughtful, humorous, deep, or absurd, Wright travels the width of the cosmos and plumbs the deeps of eternity through the lens of simple space adventure stories to say what these flights of fancy say about life on earth, and the secrets hidden in the human heart.

Signal Boost — Saint Tommy, NYPD

Posted May 8, 2019 By John C Wright

Hey all,

Jagi, here. I have the honor of being the editor on this series. It is a really fun series to edit. Fun, dramatic, fast moving, hard hitting.

From Book 1: My name is Officer Thomas Nolan, and I am a saint.Tommy Nolan lives a quiet life. He walks his beat – showing mercy to the desperate. Locking away the dangerous. Going to church, sharing dinner with his wife and son. Everyone likes Tommy, even the men he puts behind bars.

Then one day a demon shows up and he can smell it. Tommy can smell evil –real evil. Now he’s New York City’s only hope against a horrifying serial killer that preys on the young and defenseless.

But smell alone isn’t enough to get a warrant. Can Tommy track down the killer and prove his guilt?

Dragon Award Nominated Author Declan Finn returns with his typical action-packed, Catholic influenced style, in this groundbreaking horror series about an honest, religious man given the powers of a saint to fight demons in the Big Apple.

How do you do forensics on a killer possessed by a demon?

Can Tommy catch the killer before he becomes a martyr? Or will the demon bring darkness beyond imagination to the whole of New York? Read Hell Spawn today and find out!

The Elf King Requesteth — Fundraising for Service Trip

Posted February 27, 2019 By John C Wright

Hello,
My name is Justinian Oberon Wright, usually called Juss (as in Lord Juss from The Worm Ouroboros) though a few of you may know me as The Elf King (see my middle name).

I am the youngest son of John C. Wright and his “lovely and talented wife”, L. Jagi Lamplighter (Wright). You may remember me from such articles as Frozen’s Fatal Flaw Or The Unplotted Plot Twist. This summer, I have an opportunity to go on the adventure of a lifetime–or at least of my lifetime so far–but, I need your help!

I am a part of an organization called the National Leadership Council, a youth group for Christian teens. The point of NLC is to teach kids, such as myself, the skills needed to succeed. The program has been of great help to me. It has forced me to achieve level organization and stick-to-itiveness that, while not yet all that impressive, I would not otherwise have.

CombatFrameXSeed — New novel from Brian Niemeier

Posted January 30, 2019 By John C Wright

The future is over.

Civilization on Earth has collapsed. Oligarchs have established a new order in manmade space colonies at the Earth-Moon LaGrange points.

A group of powerful colonies form the Systems Overterrestrial Coalition to re-civilize the earth, but grounders view the colonists as hostile meddlers. The Coalition counters the rising violence with giant manned robots called combat frames.

The independent L3 colonies denounce the war on Earth. In response, Coalition Security Director Sanzen takes L3 leader Josef Friedlander’s wife and daughter hostage. Amid the tense standoff, Friedlander’s son Sieg launches an unsanctioned rescue mission to L1’s Byzantium colony.

The Keepers of New Haven — Kickstarter!

Posted January 24, 2019 By John C Wright

Jagi, here. Posting this for one of my authors. (Though this is not the series of hers I edit.)

Kickstarter from Silver Empire for a new series written by our own Bokerah Brumley

Vengeance always has consequences.

Woe is a fallen angel, sentenced to mortality for an unforgivable violation of angelic code. Cast down to the streets of New Haven, she is rescued by Fae prince Arún, who delivers her into the care of Jason, a local balance keeper.

As the dark and brooding Jason coaches Woe on the intricacies of being human, she discovers a rush of new and exhilarating feelings that are difficult to ignore, compounded by the always timely arrival of her Fae hero-savior.

Jason comes face-to-face with his humanity, torn between his desire for Woe and his vows to keep New Haven safe.

Arún finds himself drawn to Woe and to the destiny he does not want, further testing his loyalty to the kingdom of his birth.

As an unseen enemy circles ever closer, Woe is forced to choose between them, and the fate of worlds hangs in the balance.

Join the Keepers of New Haven as they fight to maintain the balance between good and evil in a paranormal world where nothing is as it seems.

So what are those perks?

Posted December 3, 2018 By John C Wright

*** LATE BREAKING NEWS***

We have added two new perks
for those who requested signed copies of all four books!

Jagi again — only a few days left on the Starquest Campaign, then you can get John and his normal posts back.

Some people have asked what the perks are, not realizing that more info comes up if you click on them. Here they are!

Slug Farmer                                         $1
Great things come from lowly beginnings. Jaywind Starquest himself began life as a slug farmer. No reward at this level except for our gratitude for showing faith and adding to the backer count.

Star Patrolman                                     $10
Receive complete ebook of Starquest #1 before it goes on sale for the public.

Pirate-Hunter                                       $25
Includes a pre-release ebook and a signed copy of the trade paper version when it becomes available.

Templar Squire                                     $40
Templars know the will of the stars. Even the squires understand good from evil. Included with this is an ebook of The Last Straw, John C. Wright’s 16 Chapter review of The Last Jedi. (An audio version of The Last Straw, read by Cooking with the Celts star Ken Dickason, is included.)

Privateer                                               $50
Privateers stop pirates and bad spelling! Join the creative team by getting a chance to read Starquest #1 before it is finalized, giving you a chance to see it first–and to comment on any mistakes you might catch

Templar Master                                     $125
Templar Masters have powers undreamed of–including the ability to alter history by naming a minor character or historical hero. (Name must be one that fits the Starquest universe.)

Star Captain or Space Princess             $250
Be in the book! Appear as a Space Pirate or other minor character. Names may need to be altered to fit milieu: example John Williams might become Pirate Johnny Will. Creative team will work with contributors to find appropriate presentation. (Or, you may choose to appear in the Moth and Cobweb or Books of Unexpected Enlightenment series.)

Star Maiden                                         $500
Have a John C. Wright book (not Starquest) dedicated to you. John has several books waiting to come out that need covers, including The Last Straw, two collections of non-fiction articles, a collection of short stories, and more. This will cover the price of a cover, and the book that cover is used on will be dedicated to you!

Galactic Emperor                                   $750
Have a book dedicated to you! Donate enough for an entire cover and have a Starquest book dedicated to you! From now until eternity you will be able to show all and sundry your name displayed with a testament of gratitude on the Dedication Page of the novel. (Four Starquest novels are planned currently. Only four of these available.)

Templar Grandmaster                 $2000
Commission a Short Story! The Grandmaster knows secrets known only to the Will of the Stars. Commission John C. Wright or L. Jagi Lamplighter to write a story for you, either about one of their existing characters or another topic to be mutually agreed upon. (Copyrights to the story remains with the author.)
