Scepter of Nowhere, part 4: The Spiral Tower

Posted June 30, 2021 By John C Wright

Scepter of Nowhere, part 4: The Spiral Tower, is now posted.

It was the work of titans. It was a spiral tower of bronze and black metal, bright as a looking glass, easily half a mile across at its base, twisted like the horn of a unicorn, rising course upon course. Like an aqueduct, there reared arch after black arch, holding gates wide enough that an army eager to storm heaven could have emerged.

Yes Prime Minister

Posted June 29, 2021 By John C Wright

Those of you unfamiliar with the BBC comedy YES PRIME MINISTER have missed a rare treat. Here is Sir Humphrey explaining to the naive new PM about the Church of England.

As a faithful Catholic, I assure my Anglican brethren that things are not so very different in the Vatican. I merely could find no British comedy, acerbic with dry wit, to say so.

The Woke slept thru Bible Study, History, Economics

Long overdue to hear a politician speak so.

I post this for the sake of a friend of mine who I fear is too far gone to hear the words.

From Sun Tzu to the USSR to the MSM

Posted June 25, 2021 By John C Wright

I have found online a copy of Yuri Bezmenov’s anti-Soviet tract called LOVE LETTER TO AMERICA. Yuri Bezmenov was the most highly placed KGB officer ever to defect to the West. His timely warning to the West against the means and goals of his Soviet masters were largely unheeded.

I have selected several choice passages. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine what parallels exist between these principles, and the attempts in the modern day to deconstruct America.

For ease of the eye, words originally emphasized by being written in all capitals here are italicized in bold.

Sexism and Conservatism

Posted June 24, 2021 By John C Wright

Of late, we have heard much ado about how encouraging young women to dress modestly, and to employ maidenly virtues to attract the ever-shrinking pool of useful bachelors, is an act of oppression by an invisible yet omnipotent patriarchy allegedly ruling the world.

Progressives in the area of Critical Sex Theory assure us that shameless nymphs should be allowed to flaunt their curvaceous gifts of beauty like meretricious strumpets, but to be above criticism, on the theory that no one should judge them by the clothes they wear.

Any satyrs attracted to the trollops have offended honor, decency and good taste, and must retract the hated “male gaze” of their “toxic masculinity.”

This is part and parcel of a Grand Unified Theory of Egalitarianism that may be familiar to regular readers here. The theory holds that no outcome is fair: no success is due to virtue nor diligence nor luck, no failure to vice or negligence or misfortune, therefore any inequality of outcome must be corrected by deterring virtue as vice and promoting vice as virtue.

Here, this same self-refuting logic is applied to matters of sexual morality and to the liberation from morality, otherwise called immorality.

Scepter of Nowhere, part 3: I Could Not Catch Her

Posted June 23, 2021 By John C Wright

Scepter of Nowhere, part 3: I Could Not Catch Her, is now posted.

Fast as I trotted, I somehow could not catch her. She always was just out of reach, and in the blustery wind, just out of earshot.

That Scene in a Nolan Film When You Give Up Trying to Follow the Story:

The impersonation of Michael Caine is spot on.

Racism and Conservatism

Posted June 20, 2021 By John C Wright

An unsightly matter must be discussed, and has before, and shall be again. My pen will not grow weary of truths told ten thousand times, and I pray the reader will not.

The Left reasons that since they promote egalitarianism, any opposition to their policies can only be prompted by racism, which they see as opposite and mutually exclusive.

Because Conservatism opposes egalitarianism, they are routinely and ubiquitously accused of racism by the Left.

It is a sad irony that real racists, overhearing this clamor, often come to the conclusion that Conservatives are natural allies.

When Conservatives reject their offers of alliance with horror and disgust, the racists, bewildered and hurt, conclude that the Conservatives act against their own best interests, either due to folly or cowardice, or other character flaw.

The reason for the rejection of the alliance is based on the strength of conservative principles, not the weakness of conservative character.

Not Tired of Winning Yet CLVII

Posted June 18, 2021 By John C Wright

A small victory, but one not to be expected in the modern clime.

The Supreme Court reached a unanimous decision in the case of Fulton v Philadelphia, where the issue was whether the state could breach a contract with a Catholic-run orphan charity. The state alleged it had the unilateral right to prevent the charity from operating if the charity refused to place orphans into the hands of sexual perverts.

Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for an unanimous court, said the service agency “seeks only an accommodation that will allow it to continue serving the children of Philadelphia in a manner consistent with its religious beliefs; it does not seek to impose those beliefs on anyone else.”

He also said the city’s actions of excluding the agency burdened its “religious exercise by putting it to the choice of curtailing its mission or approving relationships inconsistent with its beliefs.”

It is noteworthy that the Catholic agency involved has a policy not to place an orphan with any unmarried persons, homosexual or not.

Scepter of Nowhere, part 2: I Opened my Eyes with Joy

Posted June 16, 2021 By John C Wright

Scepter of Nowhere, part 2: I Opened my Eyes with Joy, is now posted.

I opened my eyes, overwhelmed with a sense of joy. Eyesight had been restored to me. Light was mine. I was afraid that if I blinked, surely the sight would turn out to be delirium, and unending darkness would return.

Eventually I turned my head. I was lying, naked, in a bright chamber larger than a ballroom.

2 Nevada Counties Go ‘Constitutional’

June 13, 2021 Updated: June 13, 2021
Elected officials have declared that the Bill of Rights will be upheld in their jurisdictions, even if it means standing against unconstitutional acts by state and federal authorities.
According to a resolution approved in Elko County on June 2, abuse of the constitutionally protected rights of citizens in Elko and Lander counties will be “dealt with as criminal activity.” Officials in Lander County approved a similar effort.

Ex-Veep Nixed by Holy Father

Posted June 15, 2021 By John C Wright

The wording below is taken from The Duran — read the whole thing there. Emphasis is in the original. (The word “nixed” appears in the original article by the Catholic News Agency, which shows their moxie.)

From the Catholic News Agency, which was curiously absent from any Google searches (emphasis added):

President Joe Biden’s attendance at early morning Mass with Pope Francis has been nixed from an early plan of the June 15 meeting of both leaders, a reliable Vatican source told CNA.

President Biden, who is in Europe for several high level meetings, is taking off the morning of June 15 to meet Pope Francis as President of the United States for the first time. The President’s entourage had originally requested for Biden to attend Mass with the Pope early in the morning, but the proposal was nixed by the Vatican after considering the impact that President Biden receiving Holy Communion from the Pope would have on the discussions the USCCB is planning to have during their meeting starting Wednesday, June 16. The U.S. bishops are slated to vote on creating a committee that would draft a document about Eucharistic coherence.

President Biden is traveling from Brussels, where he attended the G7 meeting, and will immediately fly to Geneva for his scheduled summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 16…

Not Tired of Winning Yet CLV

Posted June 12, 2021 By John C Wright

I hope this will not be the last in this series, since I still am in expectation of the massive voter fraud of 2020 to be corrected, but by what means, even the wise cannot foresee.

EIGHT VINDICATIONS: Or, Eight time Trump Derangement News Stories the Fake News Finally Admits were Fake All Along.

Alas, we will hear no apology, see no accountability. These papers gave each other applause and awards and handsome salaries for this agitprop spread as news.

Please note that this list does not mention first, the ongoing fraud of the Russiagate, which involved corrupt law enforcement abusing their power and perjuring themselves to the FISA Court; nor, second, the fraud of the first fake impeachment, involving a perfectly normal phone call to the leader of an allied nation, among other things, asking for cooperation in uncovering the Russiagate fraud; nor, third, the fraud of the second fake impeachment, involving nothing but hysteria over a minor act of trespass onto the Capitol grounds, where Trump in his public remarks asked protestors to remain peaceful … which they did.

These are only the lies that the fake news, recently, for reasons not clear, decided to fess up.

This text comes from the Daily Caller. Comments in italics are mine.

Please note that in preparation for this column, none — I say again, not one —  of the debunked stories could be found using the Google search engine’s first page or two of results. I had to use Duck Duck Go.
